One Moment Of Purpose

“And I am certain that God,

who began the good work within you,

will continue his work until it is finally finished

on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Philippians 1:6

“One moment of purpose can change your life and the lives of those around you forever.  One ordinary day can be the day you have an encounter with Jesus that begins your good work.  One ordinary moment in one ordinary day can be the time God turns your ordinary into extraordinary.” – Journey To Purpose

That one moment starts with your “yes” to Jesus.  No matter the purpose, place or timing, no matter your personal feelings or sacrifice, no matter the cost.

I was a fighter, a fighter of purpose and God’s plan for my life.  I thought that the moment I said “yes” to God I would be forced to do everything that scared me, everything that I didn’t want to do.  I knew saying “yes” to God would mean leaving control of my life at the feet of Jesus and trusting that God’s plans for me were good and not to harm me.

I remember the day like it was yesterday.  I was sitting in church next to my Husband when the pastor said these life-changing words, “God the answer is yes now what’s the question,”

my heart started pounding, my hands were sweating, and I knew that I knew that if I said those words my life would never be the same.

It took me all of two seconds to say the words in my heart.  I knew there would be a cost, I knew it meant saying those same words over and over again as God led me out of my comfort zone and as I would relinquish more and more control of my life, I knew it wouldn’t be easy but there was an excitement about the future, an anticipation to see what God would do with my “yes” and willingness to do whatever He asks of me.

I have not regretted a moment of this journey, I could not have foreseen the joy, peace, excitement, the places I would go, the things I would do, the books I would write and the ministry I would start.  If I could go back in time, I would say it sooner, and I would say it over and over again.

“One moment of purpose can change your life and the lives of those around you forever. “

Your first and most crucial Journey to Purpose you will ever take is to say “yes” to Jesus, and I promise you the rest of the journey will be worth taking.
